Okay, SGU stinks on ice and instead of fixing any of its issues, the Boys From Bridge are spending all of their time saying we shouldn't say mean things about them and their baby, right? And we all know they're lazy greedheads who can't be arsed to hire staff for the show who even knows where the cluebus stops, right?

Unfortunately, it's public knowledge that they've hired an extremely clueful SF writer, John Scalzi, as consultant on SGU. Mr. Scalzi does a nifty keeno blog called "Whatever" (http://whatever.scalzi.com/) in addition to writing rather clueful SF novels (Old Man's War, The Ghost Brigades, The Last Colony, Zoe's Tale).

I search in vain for any indication the Boys from Bridge are listening to him...

Here are some indications of the deep insightful attitude that producer Joe Mallozzi has on the issue of body swapping taken from the November 7th entry of his blog:

IJH writes: “What about what Young and his wife did to Telford? They used his body for sex without his consent.”

Answer: You assume it was without his consent. Although nothing was said either way, it seems most unlikely that someone who was giving up their body for a conjugal visit wouldn’t consider this to be a possibility.

So, silence means we can assume consent. Good to know! Oh, and don't worry about any other consequences, since Brad Wright points out:

Gatelady writes: “Having sex while using someone else’s body is wrong. What about STD’s? What about pregnancy?”

Answer: As Brad once said “They know what causes that now.” And there are precautions that can be taken to prevent both.

There. See? No problem!

Oh, and per the October 31st entry

if you were offended by that broom closet scene in Air I, I guarantee you’ll be clawing your eyes out of your skull given what we have in store later this season. Also, while I can understand why some may have had a problem with that broom-closet scene in the premiere given that it did come as a surprise to many, I can’t muster up much empathy or understanding for those complaining about the Scott-Chloe scene in Light. Again, if it’s a matter of not enjoying shows that focus on the occasional romance between characters, then that’s unfortunate – because that’s the type of show you’re watching. If, on the other hand, it’s an innate response to the very notion of intimacy no matter how modest the scene, then I’d suggest a deep-rooted personal issue that would be best dealt with somewhere other than this blog.

So, either you like what they give you or you need you psychological help. So very glad they cleared that up!
