Okay, SGU stinks on ice and instead of fixing any of its issues, the Boys From Bridge are spending all of their time saying we shouldn't say mean things about them and their baby, right? And we all know they're lazy greedheads who can't be arsed to hire staff for the show who even knows where the cluebus stops, right?

Unfortunately, it's public knowledge that they've hired an extremely clueful SF writer, John Scalzi, as consultant on SGU. Mr. Scalzi does a nifty keeno blog called "Whatever" (http://whatever.scalzi.com/) in addition to writing rather clueful SF novels (Old Man's War, The Ghost Brigades, The Last Colony, Zoe's Tale).

I search in vain for any indication the Boys from Bridge are listening to him...

Way back during the midst of Gate!fail, Scalzi made a comment that his role as consultant was to make suggestions, but there was nothing saying that TPTB had to act on his suggestions. I took that as his diplomatic way of saying that he tried but no one was listening.

I know - why hire a consultant if you're just going to ignore him? Oh wait, they do that with all the fans who don't immediately gush over the show too, only first they belittle those viewers calling them ignorant trolls and haters. Way to be receptive to comments.

Yeah, I've been participating in the...discussion over on Scalzi's blog. Trying to explain to some of the rah-rah sorts just how abominablly awful the show is.
