http://twitter.com/Syfy just tweeted "Syfy will end its original action-adventure series Stargate Universe when the show returns with the final 10 episodes of its second season in the Spring of 2011."
So Syfy fulfilled it's original contractual obligation and nothing more, I'm utterly shocked.

The cast is also apparently receiving the news that they're out of a job via Twitter. Charming.

Can't wait for the crap that will spill from the keyboards of TPTB.

Well, no, dumplings. TPTB did that. And I'm charmed by the notion that the fanbase could have that much power. If that were true, surely *our* shows would be on, right?
Oh my god I *CANNOT WAIT* to hear the pity party pissing of Mallozzi and co.
I do feel sorry for the actors, though. Apparently they found out they were out of work from Twitter, too.

I feel no guilt. Only, you know, *SCHADENFREUDE*...

I kind of doubt they had any plan at all, really.

And yeah, he and his pack of idiots will try to blame the fans instead of, y'know, blaming the fact that they produced a crappy show.
Also, since when is being able to tell the difference between crap and quality a *bad* thing? And why is hating crap considered some sort of character flaw? I would hope people would hate crap. I certainly don't think much of people who can't tell the difference or who like the crap (guilty pleasures being the exception - we all have them).

I can't even feel sorry for the cast, because the crappy writing made me hate their characters so much that I can't disassociate the two. I do wish they'd been individually informed instead of having to hear about it online.
If they were paying attention to the ratings they should have seen it coming, though.

No. If you produce *good* SF, SF fans will march into hell for you.
If you produce *crap* SF, we'll build the atomic powered trebuchets out of the contents of our kitchens and personally rot the eggs we'll use as ammunition to put you our of our misery.
This is what happens when Mundanes try to do SF. They don't get *it* and they don't get *us*.
