Don't Expect Logic When You Can Have Tits.

You know, something just occurred to me...

The Density is supposed to be farting Stargates into the void, right?

So why are there obviously-ancient old-skool Stargates on The Planet Of The Air-Scrubbers and like that?

Also, what keeps them from dialling home on any of them?

Lastly, if someone else says "We're Not Supposed To Be Here" I shall do something dramatic.

About the stargate thing. Somewhere in the jumbled mess of the first episode Rush tells someone that Destiny wasn't the first ship. There were others sent out in advance of Destiny that "seeded" supposedly habitable worlds with gates.

Wild guess? Escape mechanism from their Ancient-Ori brethren, who'd already driven them out of one galaxy. If you'll recall, apparently the only Gate that had the power to get to Destiny was tapping into the planetary core on whatever-the-hell-that-planet-was-named (Icarus?).

Which also helps clear up why they're not dialing home from any of the planetary 'gates.

I think it was supposed to be for exploration. Since they can't dial between galaxies without lots of power or a control crystal (according to SGA cannon anyway) the ship gate somehow made it possible.

As for the rest - ya got me!
