Ratings for the first 8 eps

TV By The Numbers has posted a roundup of the ratings for the first eight episodes of SGU, including Household Rating and viewers in millions.

I just love reading the comments on these things! You've got your 'Bring Back Atlantis' folks, your 'I never liked Stargate until now' folks, your 'quit with the sex already' folks, your 'Lesbians? EW!' folks.

Yes! And don't forget the various Math groupings -

Group One: Hey, the percentage drop from SGU's 1.5 HH premiere to 1.1 is a smaller percentage than SGAs drop from 3.whatever to 2.whatever - therefore the 1.1 is a much better rating than the 2.whatever!!

Group 2: No! No! Look at the coveted demographic! The coveted demographic is higher for SGU! Therefore it is a triumph!

Group C: NO! No! You can't compare SGU to any other Stargate show! It's not a spinoff! It's shiny and new! Let's compare it to Warehouse 13!

Groups One and 2: What? W13 totally rocked the nubmers, dude! It's like twice as many as SGU no matter what numbers you're looking at!

Grump 4: Those numbers suck! SGU sucks! You all suck! Bring back the A-Team! That was REAL TV show!!

What's creepy is they can track the folks who DVR the episodes, and put them in the Live + 7 category.

Whatever.

So yeah, as listed upthread, you have the "math" folks, you have the "too much sexin'" folks, you have the "I am sick of the Kino" folks...add to that the "RDA is too fat" folksn (they need to burn, those people), the SGA, BSG, and "redo SG-1's "Unending"" folks.

Wait. There's more. There's the "Asgard killed themselves for this?" folks as well. And the "FTL drive is crap" folks. And lets not forget the "if Rodney or Sam were on in this this crap never would have happened" folk.

And the best of them all:

The "I am an armchair astrophysicist" folks.

I personally think its the outcry that's keeping the madness going. Personally, the whole 9th chevron madness is curious-making, but that's about it. I reach for my SGA DVD's instead.

Here's something else I noticed:

Over on Gateworld, at the forums, they have a count as to how many are viewing which forum at a time. When SGU first started, at any given time that forum had the most folks viewing, even beating out the Character and Relationships folks by a wide margin.

These days, the Character and Relationship forum has the lead. I guess there's more concern with pictures to drool over than what's going on in SGU.

Just saying...we all have our priorities :)
